This janitorial enclave of workers is under a contract at Buckley through the National Industry for the Severely Handicapped (NISH). NISH is a non-profit organization that pursues Federal government contracts to employ persons with disabilities.

North Metro has a long history of contracting with NISH and has successfully placed many consumers in jobs with good pay and benefits. Individuals receive training and ongoing job support from North Metro employment consultants and work independently or in small crews. Part- and full-time work is offered, and transportation is provided when necessary.

Many consumers have formed friendships with Buckley staff and find added attraction to their jobs when they see an F16 jet take off or, on occasion, when Air Force One lands.
