Providing quality services and support to citizens in Adams County, Colorado since 1964.
The Supported Living Services Guiding Principle

The guiding principle of this State or Medicaid-funded program is to provide, least intrusively, services and supports to persons, 18 years old and over, with developmental disabilities, and focus on allowing participants to live independently or with family and participate as fully as they desire in their community.

How this guiding principle is accomplished:

  • Consumers learn how to identify and prioritize their needs.
  • Consumers are supported by team members in the decision-making process as they work toward a plan.
  • Consumers and staff work as partners to create a plan that best meets their needs.
  • SLS program staff understand that there is often more than one way to meet a need. Support options need not focus only on using SLS funding to meet a need. Funding is limited and is intended to supplement, not replace, existing services and supports.
